K067. Each day in the field brings new discoveries, and I have learned that I need to be open to being repeatedly amazed. This was one of those occasions. We found these lions lying in a tree, behaving a lot like leopards – a rare sighting. Sometimes lions in the Mara (Kenya) will climb trees to take advantage of the cool breeze on scorching hot days. On this occasion, these lions are also clearly enjoying the benefit of surveying the landscape.
